Author’s note: About two years ago, shortly before my daughter Was going to be headed off to college, I wanted to encourage her to be the change the world needs. But how does one person change a world? Can a person really influence events that are happening 10,000 miles away, or even 10 miles away for that matter? Many things are out of our control, but the blessing one can be to a spouse, family, friends and acquaintances isn’t. That’s the message I tried to convey in “Change the World”.
We know you
We know how caring and kind-hearted you are
We’ve seen you share your love with others
You are so creative
You’ve brought beautiful things into the world
We see your humble spirit
We see how you celebrate others more than yourself
You are a child of God
You surround yourself with Him
We’ve benefited from your generosity
We’ve shared in your time and talents and are richer because of you
You’ve ever been a sensitive soul
You’ve kept that sensitivity and not been hardened with time
We’ve marveled at your intellect
We’ve seen your hard work pay off
You’ve been so fun and funny
You’ve made us laugh and brightened our world
We love you so much
And you will change the world
When you share these marvelous gifts
Freely and openly
With others in your life
With friends
With family
With a special man
Everyone will benefit from your gifts
As we have
When you show yourself to others
And bless them
